Reading is not just reading words but how authors and writers use the words to convey a message and persuade readers. Children will learn to apply inferential and critical thinking skills for comprehension. You may be surprised your child will begin to relate to various authors and writing styles and may start to imitate the writing style of their favorite authors. This is a WIN! WIN!

At the end of the Continuing Education Credit workshop, Educators will be provided with the following:
Certificate of Attendance
Reading Strategy skillset description for Continuing Education Credits
BONUS: A 1:1 follow-up session

Here is where Reading gets interesting and fun!
Inferential and critical thinking is where students analyze what they have read within the context of what they have learned, observed daily, and are now able to draw conclusions based on the information read. Inferential and critical thinking skills are necessary when students read more technical information in the Sciences and Math. For example, when your child tries to solve a math word problem, they quickly realize it is not just math, but reading and understanding the question to arrive at the correct solution, especially if it is an answer with multiple choice.

Language skills develop before 4yrs old and the ability to read is based on those building blocks of language. The building blocks of language are called Pre-Reading skills.
This is the most exciting time for parents because you get to watch your child move from Early Achiever to Confident Reader.
